Cadillac unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show the first version of the ATS model, the new ATS Coupe, that will rival BMW 4 Series, Mercedes C Class Coupe, Audi A5 and even the new Lexus RC.
ATS Coupe offers a more elongated silhouette, new doors, a distinctive roof, replaced rear wings and a redesigned trunk. The front received a new spoiler and a revised grille in the middle of which stands the new logo of the company. A logo that is first used by Cadillac with the debut of the ATS Coupe.
Audio system that plays engine sounds
The interior offers new premium items such as fine leather upholstery, decorative stitching, aluminum inserts and wood and carbon fiber. All depending on customer choice.
For music lovers , Cadillac has installed a sound system developed with Bose, able to play multiple engine sounds through 12 speakers in order to “give a new dimension to the driving experience”.
The dashboard can be “decorated” with 8-inch screen, dedicated CUE multimedia system, available with a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation and other features of the latest generation. The list of safety equipment is a generous one, including Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Under the hood there are two petrol engines available, both extremely powerful. The first is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, ready to deliver 272 horsepower and 400 Nm. Enough to sprint from 0 to 100 Km/h in about 5.6 seconds.
For those with higher expectations in this regard, Cadillac offers a 3.6-liter V6 engine capable to deliver 326 hp and 373 Nm. Customers receive a standard automatic gearbox with six reports, but can opt for a manual one for the entry-level version.
The new Cadillac ATS Coupe will be launched this summer , its prices and availability for the European market is still shrouded in mystery.
