BMW 5 Series Touring – Official Photos

After the premiere of the BMW 5 Series sedan in November 2009, BMW now completes the series with the 5 Series Touring. For the first election, two petrol and two diesel engines with power ratings from 184 to 306 hp. The new 5 Series Touring comes with numerous driver assistance systems.

Compared to the BMW 5 Series, the Touring 5 Series sedan is almost the same in length (plus eight millimeters). With 4.91 meters, it is only an inch longer than the direct competitor from Stuttgart, the Mercedes E-Class model.

At its market launch in September 2010 four engines are available. The BMW 523i Touring draws from three liter capacity 204 hp and 270 Newton meters. The inline six in the 535i Touring, thanks to turbocharging makes 306 hp at 5,800 rpm. The smallest diesel engine in the Touring Program sends in the BMW 520d Touring from only two liter capacity 184 hp to the rear wheels.

The safety equipment includes airbags for driver and front passenger, front side airbags and head airbags front and rear. As in the 5 Series sedan is also a cruise control with brake function, and the dynamic brake light as standard. The latter vary in brightness depending on the intensity of braking. Surcharge numerous other options, such as Bi-Xenon Adaptive Headlights with variable light distribution and adaptive headlight range are available. Further driver assistance systems such as lane-change assistant and automatic speed and a warner, but BMW can pay extra.
