New Pictures! VW’s Premiere Brand Bugatti boasts the mighty Sedan: 16 cylinders, eight-liter displacement, four doors. Whether the concept will go into series production, remains an unanswered question.
If this is not a birthday surprise, what is? Just in time for the 100th anniversary of Bugatti, the French luxury brand is presenting a concept car of superlatives. “The Bugatti 16C Galibier, the most exclusive, elegant and most powerful sedan in the world,” says the fine VW subsidiary.
Historical precedent for the Galibier is the Bugatti 57 Atlantic in 1938. Is just everything. As usual in pre-war models, the hood is composed of two wings, opens today, but with precise electrical spindle drive. Discussions should trigger the rear design. It is similar to the rounded rear of the Porsche Panamera and shows great affinity with the D1 study, presented by Volkswagen at the IAA 1999th. Well, at least, the draft remains in Bugatti in the VW family. Although the body is crafted out of carbon, the supercar weights over two tons. Even lightweight doors and aluminum fenders can not change that.
But more on this model when there is more to know. For now, enjoy the image galery of the future Bugatti, and when I say future, i mean probably going to get in production, but not likely considering the current economic status, and the “green” trend that all automakers take, even Ferrari with it’s “green” 599.
