New chapter of a long story: After 15 years of construction, VW is now launching the next generation of Sharan at the start. To see the new van is at the Geneva Motor Show 2010.
After 15 years of construction and more than 600,000 vehicles sold, in 2010 the new generation of the VW Sharan is revealed. The new van from Wolfsburg takes just two components from it’s predecessor – the sun visors. Otherwise, everything is new: the engines, the interior and of course the metal dress, may now push the latest family face of golf and Co. by the wind. Its world premiere, the Sharan II at the Geneva Motor Show, he goes to the dealers in summer 2010. There he could – stand today – as “the world’s most fuel-efficient van in its class” will be advertised.
The full-bodied VW is a promise of the new engines in the Sharan Spending Bug: The 140-hp and up to 194 km / h fast 2.0 TDI needs according to manufacturer’s only 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers. The remaining three available engines promise more economical up to 21 percent to be. Choices are the two-liter TDI with 170 hp and two direct-injection petrol engine with 150 and 200 hp. A standard feature start-stop system and regenerative braking system to help the three weaker aggregates thereby to restrain the fuel consumption. All engines meet the emission standards for Euro 5, which are standard equipped with a diesel particulate filter. All units can alternatively be equipped for manual six-speed transmission with DSG – the more powerful 2.0 TSI has always onboard. Furthermore, there is the 2.0 TDI in the 140-hp version of the 4Motion.
